----------
If you like apple pie, here is a quick and easy twist to making a tasty pastry with a similar taste. Apple turnovers are wonderful pastries perfect for breakfast, tea time, a snack with a cup of coffee or dessert. They are surprisingly easy to make and extremely delicious. Here is a simple, but tasty recipe.

Ingredients:
1 large pastry sheet
2 large apples, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, etc
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 ounces of whole milk
Optional: powdered sugar, walnuts chocolate syrup

Directions:
Take your large pastry sheet and quarter it. Next take your two apples and cut them into thin slices in a bowl. You can peel them if you would like but they are great with the skin on. Add your sugar and cinnamon. Now place the apples, cinnamon and sugar at the center of each pastry sheet. With a brush, moisten the edges of the pastry dough and press them closed, leaving small pockets for the filling.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place the turnovers in the oven; cook for about 10 to 15 minutes or until tops of turnovers start to turn golden brown. Remove from oven and decorate with powdered sugar, walnuts or chocolate syrup if you wish. This recipe yields four servings.
